The Femur Trim Tool is our low-cost surgical tool for orthopedic knee surgery.

We consulted with Orthopaedic surgeons and a leading surgical implant company to create a low-cost surgical tool used to prepare femur and tibia for prosthetic implants. Our Femur Trim Tool eliminates the need for multiple tools to perform orthopedic knee surgery.

The Femur Trim Tool is a flexible cutting jig that changes in relation to the size and shape of prosthetic implants. It’s designed to take the place of multiple tools and save clinics on the cost of surgical procedure packs and tool sterilization.

Designing for the common good.

Our team developed the concepts, prototyping and engineering for the Femur Trim Tool completely in-house. Our design goal was to make a tool for orthopedic knee surgery that takes the place of multiple tools and is affordable for developing countries.

Steris TranSTAT™ System

The TranSTAT Device Transfer System is a way to safely transport critical care equipment throughout the hospital

We collaborated with Nexxspan to design, engineer and manufacture the test production systems.

Eliminating error

The TranSTAT system moves to 100 lbs. of IV pumps, monitors, ventilators, and other equipment from an in-room Harmony® Equipment Management System to the patient’s bed in one simple step with no heavy lifting and no pinched fingers. The transfer takes only 30 seconds and does not require disconnecting leads or IVs, minimizing the risk of error.

The system requires no trolleys or additional wheels, and easily navigates hallways and elevators. TranSTAT works for patient health by eliminating obstacles to critical equipment transport.

Arthroscopy Foot Peddle

Our Arthroscopic Foot Pedal streamlines surgery

We collaborated with Orthopaedic surgeons to create a foot pedal that streamlines the process of arthroscopic surgical procedures by eliminating the need for several operators.

Meeting needs.

We created the Arthroscopic Foot Pedal from data we collected through rigorous interviews and analysis of surgical operational sequence and need. Working with the surgeons, we conceived the concept, engineered, and prototyped this product. The result is a foot pedal that incorporates several surgical functions and eliminates the need for numerous operators during arthroscopic surgical procedures.

Nexxspan IV Transfer System

The Nexxspan IV Transfer System “TranSTAT” is a system that improves the intra-hospital transport of critically ill patients.

We collaborated with Nexxspan (formally known as Lifespan Healthcare) to prototype and develop the Nexxspan IV Transfer System, a safe, ergonomic way to transport critically ill patients through the hospital environment.

The Nexxspan IV Transfer System incorporated all of the attributes of the Steris Transport System with an easier to use, simplified operation. It’s the first in a series of proprietary technologies that improves the intra-hospital transport of critically ill patients by improving safety and minimizing risks.
